Terms and Conditions
The 55th Halberg Awards will be held at Spark Arena Auckland on Thursday 8 February 2018. You can vote for the "New Zealand's Favourite Sporting Moment of the Year" award (the "Award") that will be presented on the night. By submitting a vote for the Award, you indicate your acceptance of all of the following terms and conditions. The Promoter of this award is The Halberg Disability Sport Foundation.
If you do not agree to these terms, do not vote.
Voting for the Award begins at 12.01am on 12/01/18. Voting continues until 9.00pm on 8/02/18. Voters, either by text or online, may vote only once per day. Votes outside these times will not be counted but text charges will apply.
- Text 'SM' followed by the number of the Sporting Moment you wish to vote for, e.g. 'SM4' to 556. Texts cost 20c on Vodafone, Spark NZ and Skinny Mobile and 9c on 2Degrees or in line with your service providers standard charges.

The Promoters assume no responsibility for any failure to receive a vote as a direct or indirect result of a technical problem or any kind of internet malfunction beyond the control of The Halberg Disability Sport Foundation and Modica Group. All votes are deemed received at the time of receipt by the database and NOT at time of transmission by the entrant. All messages to the service will receive a reply confirmation message, though in times of high entry volumes some delays may occur in the delivery of the reply message.
All votes submitted become the property of The Halberg Disability Sport Foundation.
The personal information of each voter will be stored on a database by the Promoters. Voters have the right to access and request correction of this information. A request to access, update or correct any information should be directed to the Promoters at the addresses set out at the end of these Rules of Voting.
The Promoters, as well as the Partners and Agencies involved in this promotion, are not liable for any fees incurred through interacting with the promotion via mobile, including but not limited to the excessive use of text messaging or use of any mobile service.
Personal information captured during this campaign will be used: (a) by Halberg Disability Sport Foundation for the purpose of providing information relating to the Halberg Awards/Halberg Disability Sport Foundation and for the purposes of promoting the winners of the prize draw and/or administering the prize.
All votes received between 12.01am on 12/01/18 and 11.59pm on 28/01/18 will be eligible for entry into the major prize draw. Each successful vote gains an entry in the major prize draw. The major prize draw will take place on 29 January 2018. Note – as stated above voting continues until 9.00pm on 8/02/18.
There is one major prize draw which you may be eligible for. Two tickets to the 55th Halberg Awards, return flights to Auckland if required and accommodation for one night in a twin share/double room at an Auckland hotel chosen by Halberg Disability Sport Foundation. The winner is drawn randomly.
The major prize winner will be contacted by phone within 24 hours of the major prize draw, when arrangements to redeem the prize will be made. If the winner cannot be contacted within those 24 hours, the prize is forfeited and the Promoters reserve the right to select another winner. The major prize winner must be able to travel to Auckland (if they live outside of Auckland) on 8/2/18 and return travel will be completed on 9/2/18.
The major prize winner will be responsible for paying all additional costs associated with the major prize that are not specifically noted above, including (where applicable) transport/transfers, meal costs, spending money, insurance and other incidentals. All flights and accommodation are subject to availability and third party supplier terms and conditions.
Voting and the prize draw is only open to New Zealand residents living in New Zealand, and the winner must be over 18 years of age (or accompanied by an adult).
The prize package is not exchangeable, not transferable, and not redeemable for cash.
Employees (including contractors) of SKY Television, Sport New Zealand, High Performance Sport New Zealand or Halberg Disability Sport Foundation, or their associated agencies and their immediate families are not eligible to enter the prize draws.
The Promoters decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into. The Promoters will not be liable to any person in any way in relation to voting, the prize draw or the prize (including not limited to personal injury) except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Winners' names and/or images may be displayed on SKY Television and the Halberg Disability Sport Foundation websites and promotional material. By accepting the prize the winners must make themselves available for photographs/interviews if requested.
